About Ketzali

Ketzali is social enterprise that produces handmade accessories using traditional Guatemalan skills. The company is owned by Tewchibal S.A. with headquarters in Guatemala. The products now offered are hand-woven scarves, ponchos, and tote bags created by independent artisans and women's co-operatives. We have the privilege to work with more than 36 artisans in the development and production of our scarves.

We help several Guatemalan women's co-operatives with design & product quality seminars that help them improve and return value to the handmade product. These seminars give technical advice for the development of new textiles and clothing that help increase production and create new work sources for women and men contributing to decrease poverty and immigration to other countries.

Our Mission

Ketzali is engaged in working hand-in-hand with local artisans who create our unique products, in order to increase their income, work environment, and living standards.

Our Impact

By producing our different collections, our artisans not only benefit themselves, but their families and communities by changing their living standards, enhancing mutual respect among artisans, and appreciating more their skills.

Our Artisans

Ketzali works with different weavers (women and men) from different Guatemalan towns who are either independent artisans or belong to co-operatives. We do not only encourage our artisans to create products with high quality, we encourage them to be more open to creativity and new techniques.

Ketzali commits to the following working conditions with our artisans:

  • Gender equality
  • No forced or slave employment
  • No discrimination
  • No child labor
  • Payment of a living wage
